Sagging
Sagging eavestroughs can be caused by improper installation, rotting wood, or physical damage to the eaves itself. This can prevent water from draining properly, and is potentially a source of water damage to the structure of the house.
Pin-hole leaks
Pin-hole leaks can often be found on the seams of an eavestrough. If your installer did not provide seamless eaves, the joints between the sections can often leak. Pin-hole leaks can also be caused by physical damage to the trough itself, and just like a sagging eaves, it can cause water to drain where it isn't supposed to and become a potential source of structural damage to your home.
Improper installation
An eavestrough that isn't installed properly can sometimes "shoot" out of the back of the eaves trough. This can happen during periods of intense rainfall. If it is happening every time that it rains, your eaves have not been installed properly.
Continuous Eavestroughs
We install continuous eavestroughs in Winnipeg and surrounding areas. Continuous eaves mean that the eaves are seamless, and that there are fewer opportunities for the water to escape and cause damage to your home. We will roll out the eaves on site and custom fit the eaves to your home, ensuring that your home is well protected from the environment.
"A properly installed eaves trough will help to prevent basement flooding, roof damage, siding damage (such as rot or crumbling mortar), and eaves trough ice jams."
